Which countertop is the strongest and will last the longest?
The most popular low-maintenance countertops are made of composite, ceramic and granite. Granite is real stone, a natural product. Ceramic is harder than composite. For ceramic countertops, we recommend a flush-mounted sink. The edges are vulnerable to dents, for example when you wash pans. Why not a natural stone countertop, you might think, such as Belgian bluestone or marble? Because these are calcareous types of stone. They are beautiful, but also calcareous. If acids come into contact with them (such as vinegar, citric acid or orange juice), white or spotty rings appear. These will never come out again.
